Art and Sound Healing

In 1995, Colleen Curry began a remarkable journey, the study of how sound, music and art can heal and relax the body, mind and spirit. Through extensive research of ancient and new literature, Colleen has developed a unique discipline and treatment process that can be truly transforming for a wide variety of people.
Through Colleen’s gentle instruction, you will learn how each organ, cell and atom in your body has its own vibration. She will heighten your awareness of the sounds around you that can negatively effect mind, body and emotions.She will show you how to listen and receive the beautiful vibrations of sound internally, bringing sounds into specific areas of your body that may be out of sync and stressed. She will equip you to take this knowledge with you so you may return whenever you want, to the inner peace you will discover. Sessions with Colleen Curry can include one of, or a combination of the sessions listed below. These sessions can be taken by individuals or groups. They can be taken as a combination, or art and music separately. They can be 30 minutes, 1½ hours, 2½ hours, or a full day.
Music and Sound Sessions
- Sampler – This is a 1½ hour session during which you will experience the shorter versions of the following: crystal bowl meditation, vocal toning, classical music meditation, and inner dancing.
- Crystal Bowl Meditation – Through the use of crystal bowls you can discover how to bring healing vibrations into your body for peace and relaxation. This is a 30-45 minute session.
- Meditation with Classical Music – With the use of many types of classical music and the use of one of the following techniques: bringing the music into yourself, bringing yourself into the music, guided imagery, affirmations; you can find peace, relaxation, and healing. This session is 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Vocal Toning/Chanting – Certain vowel sounds will be used to discover your own personal tone and many types of healing. This session is 30-45 minutes.
- Inner Dancing – Through the use of soft peaceful or rhythmic music, you will experience bringing the vibration of sound, rhythm and color into your body. This session is 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Art Sessions
- Blind Drawing – In this session you will close your eyes and experiment drawing with your non-dominant hand.
- Mandala – Using the circle as a boundary to stay within or go out of, you will intuitively reflect some mood feeling or emotion.
- Landscape – Using various media, you will make a representation of some aspect of your being. You may also draw your place of work, your family, or a beautiful outdoor scene.
- Intuitive Art – Through the use of several media, you will abandon your everyday self and throw yourself into a beautiful work of art. Many types of music can be used to influence your work.
- Dream Art – Using an art medium of your choice you will depict a dream you have had.
