The Library Project

We have started a Library with the sacred scriptures of all spiritual traditions, and books about spirituality, consciousness, personal growth, ancient teachings, science, healing, healthy living and more. You will be able to check out books starting the 1st of February. If you have a book, used or new, that you want to donate to the Satva Library, please do so by contacting us (309-793-7881). That is what this project is about: sharing the knowledge, teachings and healing with the entire community. Thank you for your support!

The Kabbalah of Creation

Sunday, June 6-13-20, 4:30-6:30pm

Rabbi Michael Samuel returns to the Satva Center to continue the study of the Kabbalah, the mystical teachings of the Jewish tradition, this time exploring the Genesis of the universe. We will interpret the numerological patterns and anomalies in the Hebrew text, and will examine the concept of the Infinite Light’s Contraction known as Tzimtzum (צִמְצוּם, “contraction” which produced the phenomenal universe or Cosmic “Big Bang”), the “Alphabet of Creation”, the Creation from Nothing and its meaning, The Ten Emanations, and the story of the Fall as taught by the Kabbalists of the last 1,800 years.
$45 (6 hours) or $20 per class.

Self-Discovery through India’s Ancient Teachings: The Vedas

Saturday, June 26, 9:30-5:00pm

Come enjoy a life-enhancing workshop guaranteed to accelerate your sense of Self-discovery! The Vedas, India’s 4,000-year-old system of spiritual philosophy and practice have long been shrouded in mystery and obscurity. Willy Mathes, a longtime student of the Vedas and practitioner of Vedic meditation, will act as our multi-media “tour guide” of this ancient body of knowledge, illuminating both the profundity and the practical application of this timeless wisdom. This workshop will be structured in three parts, each one having a “knowledge,” a “meditation,” and a “practical application” component. Special focus will be given to
Rig-Veda – India’s “Bible,” concerned with the eternal truths of existence;
Ayur-Veda – The Veda’s recently revived science of health popularized by Dr. Deepak Chopra; Gandharva-Veda – The Veda’s enlightening knowledge, science and practice of music. We’ll listen to Vedic hymns translated into English and Gandharva Veda played by classically trained Vedic musicians, as well as learn Meditation techniques to raise self-awareness and further our “unity consciousness”, and simple Ayurvedic procedures to increase relaxation and health. This workshop will be led by Willy Mathes, a life-long TM meditator, a successful book editor, who currently lives in Alabama, and who has conducted numerous consciousness workshops throughout the USA. $95, only $75 if you come to both week-end workshops (Vedas & Mythology)!

Mythology and Consciousness

Sunday, June 27, 1-5pm

Co “The labyrinth is thoroughly known; we have only to follow the thread of the hero-path. Where we had thought to find an abomination, we shall find a god; where we had thought to slay another, we shall slay ourselves; where we had thought to travel outward, we shall come to the center of our own existence; where we had thought to be alone, we shall be with all the world.” – Joseph Campbell
Come explore the realm of Mythology, as expressed by renowned scholar and quintessential storyteller, Joseph Campbell. We’ll watch The Hero’s Adventure, Part 1 of the acclaimed PBS series with Joseph Campbell & Bill Moyers, and then participate in both small and large group activities and discussion. The workshop will include exercises that will help you reframe your self-perception and life vision, in order to more clearly and concretely see and feel your own “heroic” nature and that of your life journey. This workshop will be led by Willy Mathes, a life-long TM meditator, a successful book editor, who currently lives in Alabama, and who has conducted numerous consciousness workshops throughout the USA. Willy will also be weaving into the workshop some mythological examples of Vedic wisdom from India. An illuminating evening is guaranteed for all! (309)793-7881
$35, only $25 if you come to both week-end workshops (Mythology & Vedas)
